The Highlands at
Lake Wilderness
Welcome to Our Neighborhood!
The Highlands at Lake Wilderness is a neighborhood of 172 single family homes located in the City of Maple Valley situated between State Highway 169 and Lake Wilderness.
We are fortunate to have direct access to the paths/trails connecting to the Green to Cedar River trail system that is designed and maintained by King County Parks. Our neighbors love this trail system because it provides a safe, multi-use regional trail for bicyclists, pedestrians, joggers, skaters, strollers, wheelchairs, and users of all ages and abilities. The section of trail that runs between our neighborhood and Lake Wilderness is heavily used by many Maple Valley residents who want to enjoy outdoor time amongst the trees with family & friends. What we refer to as the Lake Wilderness trail is a great way to get from north Maple Valley to the four corners area at the south end of town when you don’t want to drive the highway.
Our neighborhood location offers great access to Lake Wilderness Park. During the City’s Family Fourth celebration in July, we get our own private showing of some of the best fireworks you’ve ever seen as they explode above the lake. During the summer you can hear music from the park during Music in the Park events. We get to hear blues, country, jazz, hip-hop and Rock. Maple Valley Days is a traditional festival held the second Saturday in June and offers carnival rides for the kids and vendor and craft booths for adults to browse as well as a parade.
If you’re looking for commuter convenience, we are just 24 minutes to the Boeing plant in Renton, 40 minutes to see either the Sea Hawks, Mariners or Sounders or 60 minutes to Sunrise visitor center at Mount Rainier. Let’s face it The Highlands at Lake Wilderness is a special place to live and enjoy life.
